Producing a high-quality animation series from start to finish requires dozens of specialized creative departments working in harmony, and orchestrating this enterprise is fundamental to Rainbow’s success. Starting with the initial concept and market analysis, followed by story and character design and development, then synopsis, scriptwriting, storyboards, background illustration and prop work, teamwork is the key component to making the final product into a perfect whole, and serves as the core of Rainbow as a company.
With two large animation studios based in Loreto (Rainbow S.r.l.) and in Rome (Rainbow CGI), Rainbow is the only Italian production company able to complete all three stages of creating a cartoon or animated stereoscopic 3D film internally. This includes the pre-production stage, from concept, to characters, to script, locations and storyboard development; the production stage, developing the reels and sequences of the animation itself, and the post-production stage, from voice recording, to music, editing and the rendering and integration of 3D effects.
Rainbow also handles the direct sale and international distribution of all its own animated properties. For TV and Movie licensing Rainbow has chosen prestigious international commercial partners such as Nickelodeon, Kids’ WB, Disney, Cartoon Network, Rai and France 3.
Finally, Rainbow’s subsidiary, Rainbow Entertainment, is entirely dedicated to live action and fiction productions. A new creative project involving the integration CGI and live action technology will be coming soon!
